May 19th meeting- St. Andrew’s Bar and Grill

We are looking forward to trying out a new venue for our May session- the address is 7406 Aurora Ave. N, and we’ll start at 2:00. Plan on arriving early – parking can be a bit challenging due to it’s proximity to Greenlake! Check out their website.

We’ll meet in the Annex. We have been asked to not bring outside for or beverages. (Home made cookies, or cupcakes, brownie are okay though!)

See you there!?!

Stay tuned for workshop, fiddle club info, and more!

Anyone have a reasonable explanation to the picture? There are a lot of interesting elements – what do they all say? All reasonable answers welcome!

Well, important announcements are in the making!

We will have a May meeting- we are looking at two different places, and will make a decision as soon as possible to the “where” part.  We do know it will be Sunday, May 19th, at the usual time- 2 pm.   Most likely the meeting will be in Seattle, or Bothell..

The Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas workshop information for January 2020, is being updated.  If something doesn’t make sense in terms of dates, etc., that’s because the workshop information is getting updated, bit by bit!

Happy Easter!

Scenes from McMenamins

We had a solid turnout, with lots of new faces! Thank you Susan Burke for inviting some of your Cape Breton circle of friends and for the planning.

Calum MacKinnon Visits in November

Calum caught having a good time at Folk Life a few years ago.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to get your haggis on in November, as Calum MacKinnon, our retired music director, will visit and teach some old tunes that he taught over 10 years ago, when the club first got started.  Plans are to visit a set of tunes in G minor (Ewie with the Crooked Horn, Le Chat Noir, Sir John Lockhart Ross, maybe more!) and perhaps we’ll get some technique tips as well..

The session with Calum will start at 2:00, so please arrive ahead of time to get yourself a good spot, and be ready for some tunes!  After our Calum teaches, we’ll have some time for a session and more great tunes, and of course, a potluck!

See you soon.  Address is 725 Driftwood Lane, Edmonds, 98020
