As we approach the holiday season, may your fiddle be full of tunes, and resist the urge to… quack!

Speaking of that, it’s time to put your humidifier in your fiddle case to help with that dry heat/air!  Some folks swear by putting a piece of raw potato in the case.  That’s all fine and dandy until you need that potato for soup, isn’t it!?

January’s session will be Jan. 12, at the home of Kathy Raich, 12720 SE 25th Place, Bellevue. Usual start time of 2 PM.  Space will be tight- so let us know if you’re planning to come.

This Sunday (November 10) we’d love to see you at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park!  Start time 2 pm, and ending about 4 pm.  We’ll meet in the Commons area on the upper level.  It’s a great place for a number of reasons, but there’s also a food court- right there, with a variety of tasty food and beverages.

JANUARY 17-19, 2025!

It’s TRUE!  We will see our favorite instructors this coming January, as the Celtic Arts Foundation, based in Mt. Vernon, WA has taken up the charge!

The workshop will be held in a fine location, the Seabeck Conference Center, which has been home base for their February “Winter School” workshop for years.  Also a bonus, the Celtic Arts Foundation’s executive director is Cayley Schmid is no stranger to our pre-covid workshops.  So, it’s guaranteed to be as good as always, just further south.

Here’s a peak a some of the folks on hand for the May session at Third Place Books.  We had 14 musicians, including a cellist and a piper. A great time was had by all, with lots of wonderful tunes.

We’ll start at 12:30, but coming early is a great option because of the great food choices offered by the food court vendors in the Commons.  We will play until 2:30.

As the photo above states, we will not play tunes on the stage, but we’ll be close to the stage on the main floor.

All string instruments welcome, as well as other Celtic instruments. Scottish small pipes are encouraged as well, but the management has asked that their louder, bigger cousins, such as border pipes/Highland bagpipes stay home. Thank you for understanding.

Hi everyone!

I arrived in Stanwood a few hours ago– about 5 pm. I can promise you that there’s absolutely no snow whatsoever up here, the streets and sidewalks, and everything are clear. It’s very windy but the wind should die down by about 4 AM this morning.

Then they will have cold weather warnings out, as the temperatures should be dipping into the lower teens at night, possibly breaking records!

Please come prepared for this cold weather, bring extra anything that might keep you warm, whether it be when you’re walking outside or when you’re in your cabin or room at night! Safe travels to you all tomorrow❤️❤️
